Hello all,

I just found out that I moving to Cleveland, Ohio. I am thrilled to be going back to Ohio (my family lives close by too). I am coming from Pennsylvania, so I am not naive about snow. However, that's my biggest worry.

I hope to live in Lakewood and I will be commuting to North Ridgeville every day. Can anyone tell me what I can expect with the roads? Do they take good care of them in the winter months? I work in the schools so hopefully if it gets terrible, they will cancel that day.

I drive a small Mazda and I'm thinking about getting a new car for the purpose of winter driving. Any advice or comments to lower my stress is appreciated :-) Thank you!

I have a 2005 Nissan Altima and moved here in January from Missouri. Bought snow tires and got around just fine in the winter, but a small Mazda might have a chance of getting stuck, particularly NoRidge where there are a lot of back country roads.

Congrats on your new job! I interviewed with NoRidge in July. Are you a teacher?

Well you will be on the side of town... and commuting to the side of town... that gets the least snow. So take some comfort in that.
But there will be some rough days, however, as you said your worst days will be snow days.
Assume your car is front wheel drive?
Agree that snow tires are nice. All seasons are OK but if you can afford 2 sets of tires: summer and winter... that would be ideal.
