I think we just get sick of being lumped in with people who completely different political and economic interests than us. It is hard being a blue city in a predominantly red state. That's why I support Mike Polk's Ohio Succession Compromise Plan! Or something similar (maybe join Northern Ohio w/ Western NY and PA.)

Ohio Secession! Red State No More! - YouTube

Maybe that's a bit offensive, but hey, it's how many of us feel.

So am I... A lot of people I know are VERY excited about the aquarium. It's going to be spectacular!

I was reading that it will be 70,000 sq. ft. Is that only Phase 1? How large will Phase 2 be? I didn't realize how big the entire building actually is.

Less government is good... I didn't say no government is best...key word there is "LESS"... I'm simply choosing not to argue with you because it's pointless too. Your view point will never change. You will always be right and I will always be wrong. With the way the economy is maybe you need to change your view point, just my opinion, and that's just a suggestion.

Getting back to the topic, I really do hope this Aquarium works out for Cleveland. I hear some people saying the old one was excellent.

Less government sure worked out for the financial industry. Let's here it for deregulation! Recessions are great!

I can't remember exactly so don't quote me but I'm pretty sure that unlike the the second phase of the casino...it's not something as excitng to look forward to. As in its nothing cool like expanding the aquarium to much larger size or anything like that.

The economy was driven off a cliff by people with YOUR point of view, just in case you're fuzzy on the "ownership" politics and the timeframe. Also, only an abject fool thinks that huge problems like these can be rectified in a couple of years. It may take a couple of decades.

It will, with no thanks being appropriated to the current governor.

This is all a matter of opinion. What is fact is that both the casino and the aquarium are rooted in large scale economic development of our downtown and adjacent areas. And, that's pretty "cool" to me.

Necessary? At times, yes. But, I didn't say what you are insinuating at all. It wasn't aimed at anyone personally. But, you must admit that many people in southern OH are exactly what I've called them and disproportionately so.
