OK, I'm new to the Cleveland area and need help on figuring out public transporation. I need to somehow get to 800 Superior Ave downtown and I'm coming from the North Olmsted / Olmsted Falls area. Is there a good way to do this? I don't mind driving farther out to a different Park and Ride if it means having less transfers. I want to avoid buses as I think I like the idea of a rapid rail better during winter (this will be for my normal work-day commute), but I'm open to consider it. Just a little nervous about bad bus drivers. I looked at the RTA website, but I've never been downtown, have never used public transporation and would like some good advice from the locals! Thanks.

I would just use North Olmsted's Park and Ride. There are no transfers and it takes you right to the doorstep of your building on Superior Avenue. I believe the number is 263 and the parking lot for it is just south of the mall area on the east side of Great Northern Blvd.

Echo the above poster. The 263 goes right down Superior, and would drop you off right at E. 6th and Superior. One minute walk to the Key Bank place. Coming home you hop on it across the street in front of the Federal Reserve. If you work second shift or something like that this is not an option. If you elect to live in North Olmsted, you might be closer to the Westlake PNR, which is what I take (I live in North Olmsted) and takes the same exact route once you get downtown. Find out which one works better with your work start time. The Rapid is also an option, but you would have to drive to the Brook Park Rapid Station, and IMO the Rapid is a little dirtier than the PNR, but not by much really. You would just be looking at longer walk once you got to Tower City than with each of the PNRs.

Try Google Transit to see your different options:

If you can avoid transfers, you're a very lucky person. Changing buses is a big pain!

What did you mean when you said you were worried about bad bus drivers? People who can't drive? I've been taking the bus here in Cleveland for years and have never felt unsafe because of a bus driver.
