So these new jobs will also renovate the building they are moving into?

That would be great if they did! The new hotel renovations, the Federal Building is getting a new $120 million facade next year, and hopefully this building with AmTrust moving in. East 9th is going to have a few buildings looking really good come 2013. Also, any news on the Schoefield (spelling) building?

The builders/owners who did the Calfee (300 workers) are the same one who are renovating the Schofield building. Once they finish, they'll move over to that one.

Did not know that, good news! I see the scaffolding up there, and always wonder what they are going to do with it? What are the plans?

I believe an apartment complex as well as a hotel though recently I have read somewhere that Kimpton said Cleveland doesn't have a market for their hotels and won't be the hotel operator anymore don't quote me on it though because even though I heard that it could be a different hotel brand I'm thinking of.

What do people think about a casino downtown? A casino was recently opened in my hometown in the suburbs of Chicago (Des Plaines) and people were somewhat against it citing it would bring increased crime rates. Thoughts?

I'm pretty excited about the casinos coming... Will there be folks out there, trying to commit crimes - yes? That comes along with the territory, unfortunately... I would NOT want a casino out in the suburb of where I live either. I'd be totally against it! One thing I will say, there're billions of dollors being pumped into Cleveland... There will be a zero tolerance for foolishness. They already know what to expect, and trust me, they're prepared for the worse. There are cyber / internet cafe' casinos all over Cleveland now. I have not heard about any crime going on! I mostly hear how people are opening up their own internet cafe' stores... A little annoying seeing all this everywhere...
