Rock Caesars is building a casino in the Higbee building, bought 250 Huron from Forest City, and I've heard they are trying to buy the Renaissance Hotel, which leads me to this question....will they try to buy the Avenue at Tower City Center (the mall)? It makes sense because it seems as if Forest City is having a fire sale, and they aren't upgrading the malls stores (they put a tax service in the mall ) Also if Rock Caesars bought The Avenue they could be in control of putting in stores that appeal to the high rollers that are at casino's (Barneys, Gucci, etc.) also Dan Gilbert just brought an Apple Store to downtown Detroit so he has some retail interest. Am I crazy for having this idea?

You're not crazy at all! I believe that's going to happen... I read a while ago (sometime this year) that Dan Gilbert WANTS Tower City... Let'em have it, is what I say... He's a business man, and he will not put something in Tower City that will not work... He's a major contributer for turning this city around. If I'm not mistaken, isn't he going to freshen up the Ritz Carlton? Cleveland is going to be FABULOUS once Phase 1 casino is done... Apparently, that's not all... Phase 2 casino is going to be absolutely amazing!!!

Take a look at this video!!! Just beautiful!

I think Gilbert will have some interest in TC. I think it depends on how the casino performs. FWIW, I doubt they will be doing much to the Ritz, it was completely renovated a year ago.

When Tower City opened, it had many high-end retailers such as Gucci. It would be great to see the high-end retail return to TC, Euclid Avenue and especially the Arcades. The Cleveland Arcades are amazing and offer much potential for retailers. Hopefully, the new owners of the Euclid Arcade (the one with the Hyatt) can develop it to reach its potential.

I disagree, I think part of what killed tower city was that the shops were too upscale to succeed in Cleveland. I don't know if those types of stores would've even succeeded in a place like Legacy Village. It would be nice to see the crowds, but I would rather see interesting and unique stores that appeal to everyone, not just the upper class.

Cleveland needs lots of the upper class living in it with malls, shops, restaurants, hotels and businesses catering strictly to them.

That's absurd. Catering strictly to the upper class is a good way to make sure your business is short lived. There are very few cities where that business model is successful for more than maybe 2-3% of the businesses within it. Yes, that includes NYC.
