I'm glad to have the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame inductions back in Cleveland this year. But, I feel that the 3-year thing is a joke and an insult. I think they should be in Cleveland because we won the nod to have the museum over New York and Memphis. We're the home of the museum as well as the genre. If the Baseball and Basketball Hall of Fame inductions can be held in Cooperstown and Springfield (both smaller than Cleveland), and the Pro Football Hall of Fame inductions in Canton; the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame inductions should be held here every year.

Do you agree or disagree? Why do you think they only have the inductions here in Cleveland every three years? Eltism? A NYC grudge over the fact they didn't get the building and/or they "Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame Annex" failed? Or, this is their way of throwing us a bone?

It's political, no question about it. However, I kind of like the fact that it's shared. It gives Cleveland's ceremony (the only one where the public can actually attend), much more of a unique and anticipated event. It also puts an exclamation point on where the grass roots fans are -- the NYC ceremonies come across as little more than a pageant. I really don't think that it has anything to do with them throwing us a bone. I think they have finally come to the realization that, in NYC, it's just another event that gets lost in the shuffle. The induction 3 years ago was a resounding success as I'm sure this year's will also be. When the casino complex and the new convention center are completed, any use of venue excuses will wither and die (even though it's a weak argument since the Public Hall looks great since the re-work and NYC has the ceremony in a small hotel ballroom anyway). Cleveland has proven that it's deserving of both the museum and the ceremony. But, the internal politics will never go away completely. Now, if only the people on the induction committee would drop their absurd hang-ups and dismissals of obviously deserving bands like Rush, Deep Purple, and Kiss...

I agree, and I've been complaining about this for years! Yeah, thanks NY for throwing lil' ole Cleveland a bone every now and then! The inductions SHOULD be held here every year, and in fact if the artists don't want to come here, then I say we tell NY to take the RNR HOF and cram it up their a**!

It's a little offensive and derogatory, sure, but I don't think it will ever change....
