I'm moving this July to Cleveland to do an internship at Case Western. I've heard Little Italy is nice and safe but would like info from ppl who actually live there! I'm a single female looking to walk to and fom Case so safety is important.

Little Italy is a very safe and walkable neighborhood. I've lived here for a couple years now.

I've even lived here without a car too because it has access to two train stops and a BRT (public transportation), plus all the needed amenities of a neighborhood ( especially when combined with bordering University Circle).

Only one warning -- you'll end up going to Presti's bakery 8 times a week, so only be careful of over eating!

I work at the UH campus quite often and go to Little Italy several times a month. The whole area up to the Lakeview Cemetery (along Euclid Ave) is very safe. Little Italy is close-knit neighborhood to boot. Walking from there to Case is done daily by scores of students.

But, yes, you must beware of Presti's -- it very well may cannoli and cappuccino you to death.

I went to Cleveland School of the Arts across from CWRU which is not far from Little Italy. My friends and I would always hang out in that area after school...Very nice, safe clean area...you'll feel right at home...:-). easy access to public transportation and a very walkable area...

i moved here from pittsburgh also. think of it this way, most of the east side is like homewood, solon/beachwood etc are kinda like squirrel hill. lakewood(right by westside cleveland) is kinda of like the south side, lots of bars and hippie stores and stuff there. coventry (eastside) is kinda comparable to pittsburghs southside too.
