We are moving to Cleveland from NM we are looking to rent a house in a good neighborhood that is cheap. I don't want to pay more than $800 a month for. A 2-3 bedrooms. Any one that can recommend places to look at or places to stay away from would be very much appreciated.

Good areas are never cheap, no matter where you go.

If you have never lived where there is a lot of snow, I would advise staying on the west side of Cleveland.

Cleveland is almost like two different cities. The west side is mostly flat and gets very little snow compared to the hilly east side with its piles and piles of snow.

I do not know where you'll find a nice place with 2-3 beds for $800. If you can't adjust the price range, try looking for duplexes in Lakewwood, Parma/Parma Heights or Maybe Rocky River. If you can go out to Brunswick, you might try there.

I second Lakewood for getting that much space for that price.

Welcome to Cleveland!

For a whole house in a good neighborhood, you can expect to pay a minimum of $800 in rent. Do you have school aged children that you intend to send to public schools?

No the girls are 2 and 4 so no school for a year. I could pay more but truthfully I would rather live outside of the city. How is the job market out there?

I'd say Lakewood or Parma. Both school districts are good and you can probably find the rent you are looking for.

Job Market? It depends on who you ask and what you're looking for. I'm not going to say that it's great, but it is getting much better. Unemployment is going in the right direction. Many white collar positions are available. Sure, there are naysaying people trying to julienne the numbers in an attempt to make the trend appear overblown, but things are definitely looking up. My 60 year old, blue collar neighbor even got called back to his factory job after 2 years. My friend's 20 year old, high school educated kid landed a position at a mortgage broker. When things like that start happening, the job market is at least stable.

I wouldn't say that the West Side gets "very little" snow. It gets quite a bit of snow -- just not as much as the East Side "snowbelt" areas.

Average snowfall Lorain County: 43 inches
Average snowfall Cuyahoga County: 54 inches
Average snowfall Geauga County: 106 inches

"Very litte" is obviously wrong, but "significantly less" would be a true statement.
