That is kind of weird they would do that, i mean to be honest they're not even really Indians, they're Native Americans. Thats like having a team called the Germans then have the mascot be a samurai or something. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense does it?

Back on topic though, I am a 19 year old from Strongsville and my friends and I cannot wait to move downtown. Glad to see people outside of city and of Ohio for that matter interested and excited about what's going on here.

The reality is, yes, there are a few nice areas in Cleveland (museums, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, etc.) but that doesn't compare to the high crime rates, drug problems, and unemployment there is. I live an hr east of Cleveland and have been many times...yes, the restaurants and night life is nice, but only if you have $$$ to spend. The majority of the city is run down, lots of empty buildings with bars on them, and an overall unsafe place to be. Jobs? Good luck.

Well aren't you glad you live a safe hour east of that hell hole then?

I live in a city now that has ever increasing crime rates, a lot of drug problems and very high unemployment and an outrageous cost of living. Yet there are many who want to move here because it also has a lot of hype and lures that transcend these things for them.

You have to open your mind to realize that not everyone who wants to move to Cleveland will have a problem with the negative aspects of the city with which you seem to have problems.

In my case, I do not need a job so a high unemployment rate is immaterial to me. I am not looking for restaurants or night life. The museums, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are nice and I intened to visit them along with the wonderful top rated library and theaters from time to time. They certainly are an attraction but not a reason to move to Cleveland. I consider them a plus.

Most cities have empty buildings and run down areas. That's certainly not a deterrent since I don't intend to live in them. The neighborhood where I live now was once a high crime area with drugs all over the place. It has become one of the trendiest neighborhoods in the city. And expensive. But the point is, neighborhoods do change although in many ways I prefer it the way it used to be.

Here's my point. I mentioned why I wanted to move to Cleveland in a previous post. The negatives you mention don't concern me; maybe they do others, but they are not reasons for me to abandon the idea of moving to Cleveland.

You have your reasons for not liking Cleveland and they are valid for you. But they do not apply to everyone.
