Before I start downtown has improved drastically over the last few years. However I do have a complaint, now this is only my opinion, respond if you wish.

There is nowhere to really go and have fun downtown. What I mean by that is if you look at East 4th every place is the same. You go, eat and drink these are all "sit down" places

W. 25th is great because the bar/eateries they have you can stand and talk to people. W. 6th is just a mess on a Friday/Saturday night, what I mean by mess is it's too crowded for my taste and it's a younger crowd.

Downtown needs places like they have on W. 25th ohio city, just a variety of places to go.

Now you will say East 4th has variety....not really there all basically the same you go, sit down and eat/drink. Cleveland's downtown doesn't have that place where you can go and play pool/darts, or go dancing.

Maybe i'm a bit off, or maybe I just didn't explain the way I wanted too.Maybe there are places that I just haven't been to..Just wanted some other people's perspectives.

What does everyone else think?

Not that I frequent them, but there are plenty of places to do just that in the Warehouse District. E. 4th has a different vibe. It's where people who want to eat drink and be social can go and not be overrun by drunken 20-somethings and loud house music.

What about the comedy clubs, concert venues, broadway shows/theater, casino, aquarium, IMAX movie theater, and bowling alley?

We don't need more than one West 25th, East 4th, or West 6th. I think it's cool that we have them all and they are all kinda different. Besides, W. 25th is not so far from downtown, so why not just go there in the first place if you don't like the downtown options?

I do agree that there's no place to play darts/pool, or go dancing downtown. There is definitely no 'Club' night life anymore... A lot of that has gone; however, let's be patient. The Flats is currently undergoing tons of renovation as we speak. That sort of night life activity is coming to the Flats... Renderings ~ Image Gallery ~ Flats East Bank Cleveland

There's going to be indoor & outdoor night clubs, restaurants, hotels, businesses, apartments/lofts, etc... Trust me, the plans they have for the Flats, will offer that sort of night life. It's going to be fabulous!

Let's also keep in mind, we don't have to go downtown for that kind of action. There're places you can play darts/pool in Cleveland Hts. (Coventry), Lee/Cedar area, Mayfield area, Gordon Sq. District, etc... that you can go. They're so much fun... and offer a great night life. I often venture out to MANY areas to play darts/pool and that sort of action as well. That way, I'm familiar with all of Northeast Ohio (NEO). I love it!

Agreed on the cool places in the Heights, Gordon Square, and other places like that in Lakewood or Kamm's. But I always think that the Warehouse District is too "clubby", i.e. too much dancing! What would you qualify the Velvet Dog, Barley House, Blind Pig, etc. as??

As we all know, downtown Cleveland needs real street retail as well to mix things up for visitors.

^Jillians has been gone for a long time. The Little Bar is still around though. House of Cues is another downtown casualty that was a great place to just shoot pool and hang out.

The best place left for that is probably the Corner Alley. They do have pool tables and you can linger around in a fairly casual atmosphere. Depending on when you go, its not very clubby and you wont deal with a bunch of loudmouths.
