No, nothing like Cleveland's east or west side. Stop trying to play down Chicago's crime problems. They are some of the worst in the nation. Chicago has had 491 murders in 2012 alone.

This is seriously irrelevant. I live in Cincy, and even I know that Cleveland is a different city from 2007.

I have some ideas about that, but that's fodder for another thread. This is the Cleveland forum, lest we forget.
I know, right? I could sing Cincinnati's praises all day, even in spite of it's shortcomings. But I won't be baited into derailing a thread on CLEVELAND in the CLEVELAND forums.

At least in Chicago it's offset by gentrified and wealthy areas that take up a huge amount of territory. That's able to carry the rest of the city, and there are lots of cool and hip and fun areas that draw young college grads to move here each year by the thousands. Something Cleveland could use desperately.

(BTW, Cleveland's per capita murder rate is higher than Chicago's. A fact I've provided the proof for over and over again. Until that changes, Clevelanders should refrain from crowing about Chicago's murder rate, don't you think?)
Sorry but the lakefront area from Cermak to Irving Park is not going to carry Chicago. If it is carrying Chicago, why is the city broke? I'm not seeing the transplants to Chicago as there were in the 90s-mid '00s; I'm in a business that sees these trends. Actually, DC is a major destination for Clevelanders these days and not Chicago. So, now all those sophisticated Prairie Staters won't have to be complaining about Ohio people moving to Illinois.

It's obvious Andrew61 has some anger issues. The fact that there is real economic development going in Cleveland is making Andy61 crazy. The development is not new stadiums and such but real development; Cleveland can and will build on its assets, some of which are faded. Andrew61 is so obvious and, like you said, kinda sad.

Those who are mathematically literate understand that what matters most is the per capita murder rate. And Cleveland's is higher than Chicago's. Look it up if you don't believe me.

Cleveland might be setting the Narnian curve as of late.

You appear to have an unhealthy obsession with me. Talk about issues!

You couldn't prove it by the city's rental prices, which are currently at record levels.
