Hello to me fellow Greater Clevelanders. Okay, after looking at neighborhoods such as Over-the-Rhine and Queen Anne. I wanted to find out what's Cleveland's oldest neighborhood (regard less if the above two areas aren't), but after searching and searching, I have yet to find a clear definition of which one is. All I came across was "one of the oldest" and such. To make a long story short does anyone know which neighbourhood in Cleveland is oldest? Thanks.

Moses Cleaveland landed on the Flats East Bank, so technically that is unless you count American Indians.

The Flats aren't really a "neighborhood" though. Dirt poort Irish people lived there when they moved to Cleveland to work on the canal. Then they went to Ohio City, which is still around today.

The first settler had a cabin on the east bank of the river....early settlers lived on Public Square, then gradually moved eastward as the Square became commercial....originally, Public Square was for animals to graze! So, the oldest residential areas are now gone. Ohio City may be one of the areas that has some of the oldest homes, as it did not become wholly commercial.

I thought that the OP was trying to find neighborhoods in Cleveland that are like the two neighborhoods he named in Cincinnati. On re-reading, I guess not.

Ohio City.
