Have read a couple articles about this idea recently.

Time to think about closing a key stretch of West 25th Street by Cleveland'sWest Side Market: Mark Naymik | cleveland.com

Any opinions?

Good idea! This will only add to the West Market area (Ohio City). No more need to watch out for automobiles while shopping and dining. Hopefully it'll be implemented, and would be great for Public Square as well...

Something definitely needs to be done, as the miserable experience of trying to cross W 25th on foot remains a major impediment to Ohio City's continuing ascendency as a top-class urban experience. I'm wondering, though, if wholesale pedestrianization is a good idea here. Maybe narrowing the road and widening the sidewalks and implementing a few more crosswalks with pedestrian signals could be a more practical solution?

Could be pretty cool, as long as effective alternative driving routes were created. There's always my dream of creating a leg of the Shoreway that cuts south to 71 (in Tremont) or to the Innerbelt Bridge, but I'm not holding my breath. =)

All they really need to do is close off W25th (between Lorain and Bridge) and Market Ave. from Friday night at 8pm through Sunday morning at 2:30am. But, in order to do this, a traffic plan to divert the temporary flow of traffic would need to be put forward. The closure process could even be automated.
