What could you guys tell me about this area of cleveland?? Is that even the proper name for this area? I know Asiatown is incorporated in this area as well. I don't hear much talk about this part of cleveland. I've been through it several times and it seemed decent. More industrial toward the lake. Didn't look too run down or anything.

What do you guys know about this neighborhood? What is crime like? Are the houses well kept? What kind of amenities are there? Etc.

From everything I've heard and read, it has some of the lowest reported crime in the city of Cleveland.

It is surprisingly diverse for being such an unpromoted area. Besides the obvious Asian populations (Vietnamese, Cambodian, Chinese, Korean, etc) there are a decent mix of black, and white (including ethnic immigrants -- Albanian and Ukrainian). Not sure about Latino.

Very industrial to the north, correct.

With the proximity to Downtown, Lake Erie, and University Circle/Cleveland Clinic...this area has some serious potential.

It's somewhat impoverished and isn't completely safe, but it's not a ghetto. It is mostly blue collar and racially mixed. Unlike the neighborhoods to the east, most of its residential streets managed to stay reasonably nice.

One huge problem with living in Goodrich-Kirtland Park is its proximity to 2100 Lakeside (although its technically part of Downtown), which has a tough reputation and some of its residents occasionally cause trouble in the surrounding neighborhood. Regardless, it's still safer than most of the East Side neighborhoods.
