So, I've been following this forum for a while. I am CRAZY IN LOVE with the idea of Cleveland, but was hoping that I would be moving there as a grad student.

I haven't heard ANYTHING from Case, and y'all have no idea how sad I feel right now. I know for a fact that others who have applied to my master's program, at the exact time that I did, were accepted two weeks ago. So I'm not feeling terribly encouraged.

I have applied to programs in CA (none that excite me), as well as Tucson, Lexington, KY and Columbia, SC (Go, Gamecocks).

I will wait to see what happens, but I feel disappointed because I'm one of those people who REALLY REALLY wants to come to Cleveland, get my master's, stay in Cleveland, and work my butt off to promote the city, and make a difference.

I'm on an online forum with other grad students who are already in my program of choice at CWRU who moan and complain about the work load, lack of time available for "partying," and have no intention of sticking around after they graduate.

One applicant for Fall 2015 just received a HUGE scholarship offer from CWRU and has to "think about it" because he's not excited about Case and wants to see what the other schools he's applied to will offer. Sigh. Seems so unfair. Especially since I'm a grown up with a 3.75 GPA.

C'mon, Case! To quote that 80s band, The Human League, "don't you want me, baby? Don't you want me, bay....beeeee?" :-)

Yeah, I'm a little weird :-) And, on that note, I'm packing it in for the evening. If you've made it this far, thanks for listening.

Sorry to hear that.. Just as an FYI though, while Case is probably the most prestigious school in the region , there are many other 4 year universities, at least in the general area, of varying size. Perhaps one of them has something your looking for? Then you can work even harder and still outperform the people at Case. Here's some I know of:

4 year public
Cleveland State University (across street from Playhouse Square)
Kent State University
University of Akron (both of these you can access downtown/UC in about 40 minutes if you are driving fast)
Also, it wouldn't surprise me if other in state universities (offered programs with a focus and classes offered in the Cleveland area, such as perhaps Ohio U.

4 year private
Oberlin College (very elite, half hour west)
Hiram College
Lake Erie College
John Carroll University
Ursuline College
Notre Dame College
Baldwin Wallace College (all those except Hiram are within 30 minutes of downtown)
That's a preliminary list, though it may not include every college in the Cleveland area.

Good luck, hope you get in!

I hope you hear soon but I wouldn't discount some of the other schools in the area. I will be starting University of Akron Law in the fall. I actually preferred it to Case after visiting.
