Can anyone recommend an inexpensive moving company?

I am moving a two bedroom apartment from Broadview Heights, OH to Middleburg Heights, OH.

I called Two Men And A Truck. They gave me an estimate of $750. Too expensive.

What other moving companies are there?

In my experience..."You get what you pay for."

Be careful and check for insurance or liability. I've seen people go with price my entire life and regret it some of the time. I have a friend redoing a bathroom- went with lower bid. Guy did about 60% of the job and never came back. He paid most of it up front.

The lowest... rent a Uhaul and pay for 2 laborers per hour.

I've known many persons who have used this local firm, and they typically are cheaper than alternatives and do good work.

Cleveland moving company Morse Van Lines 800-533-1636

Let us know your decision.

750 to move it all is fair. But yeah for what is essentially a local move: friends, pizza, and a UHaul is the winner.

I went with "Cleveland Moving Company" a year or two back ... they are less affordable than TMAAT (cost me about $500 for a 2-bedroom apartment), but I would probably not recommend, as they were pretty unprofessional and I ended up actually having to help the dufuses quite a bit to get the job done. There may be other good choices out there, but I've come to the conclusion that movers that do a decent job are going to cost you a s***-ton ... you just have to swallow it, or else move yourself. (It sucks, I know...)

Please let us know what you go with ... it would be good to compile a thread of experiences with local moving companies.

FWIW ... Cleveland Moving Company gets stellar reviews online ... part of that is probably because they bribe you with a discount ... basically at the moment they are calculating your charges, they tell you that if you go online and give them a 5-star rating (they actually have you do it right then and the guy in the office goes online to check it,) they will knock 25 or 50 bucks off. So be careful when trusting such things ...

The good ol' craigslist "labor gigs" section has always been good and cheap for me...
