Hi, just received a job offer in Cleveland. Business would be in the Puritas-Longmead area. I'd be looking to rent an apartment (with long-term goal of home ownership within a 2-3 years, not necessarily in the same neighborhood) and was wondering if anyone could make some recommendations on best neighborhoods to live within driving distance and the general pricing I can expect for renting in that area.

- My lifestyle is pretty quiet. Not interested in the bar scene, clubs, etc.

- I am not looking for a party/college area.

- Would prefer to live outside of the city, closer to the suburban mode than urban. Someplace I can
commute back and forth to work from, and if possible, park my car on-site or nearby free street parking.

- I like to run and bike, so places with safe neighborhoods and, if possible, areas for bike trails, parks, large subdivisions, etc. would be ideal.

I am coming from a similar area, so I expect the weather to be about the same as what I'm used to. Demographics-wise, should also be similar. Anything that a newcomer should be looking for to get acclimated right away? What is the traffic situation like in Cleveland? I've seen congestion in Boston and the beltway, really bad stuff in Charlotte, so I'm wondering how it compares here.

Apologies if this is too vague, please let me know if I can provide any additional info to help narrow things down. Many thanks.

I'm thinking maybe somewhere in the southwest suburbs for you, say, Strongsville, North Royalton, etc. And there are bike trails in the Cleveland Metroparks' "Emerald Necklace" which cut through those areas.

Apartment rents range from cheap to moderately expensive.

I initially was going to say Lakewood, as it's nearby, but it's probably more dense and urban than you're looking for.
