What's changed in the last 12-14 months that I need to check out that I haven't seen? (Other than Josh Gordon.) Neighborhoods, transit, businesses, historic buildings, new buildings etc.
I'll be back home in Cleveland for 2 weeks starting Christmas Day. Thanks! Just wanna see what I've missed recently.

The new One University Circle building, where the Children's Museum used to be, has really changed the landscape (or should I say skyline?) in University Circle. Definitely something to check out. On the same note, the new Children's Museum has opened in a historic Millionaires Row mansion. I haven't seen it yet, but it's supposed to be really nice.

Also, some new things have opened in the Gorden Square area, namely the Superelectric Pinball Arcade.

Have you visited the natural history museum since the opening of the new wildlife center? What about Edgewater Park since the opening of the new bathhouse?

Have you seen the recreation of the Ohio Theatre Lobby and the refreshed State Theatre Lobby?

There have been many changes in the East Flats, although I don't have a clue what it's like in winter.

When are you arriving? What will be your base of operations?

Have fun, and please give us your impressions of any changes!

I'll be doing Airbnb for the first time ever. Staying in Coventry! Figured that would be a good place to get my bearings again.
Good ideas all. I'll start with Edgewater. That will be fun to see as I used to live across the street and was a daily stop for a long time.

A friend says you can check out the Marble Room and take pictures even if you don't dine or drink there.

Hi all....ended up doing a bunch of work outdoors (brrr-----what a week for it) so other than driving by and seeing new construction around Hingetown and the Clinic, didn't see too much new stuff. Stuck with the tried and true with what limited free time I had.
Next time I'll do more----thanks all

Default New international restaurants; new downtown brewery

Guatemalan or Nepalese anyone?

3 new restaurants, bars bring worldly flavors to Cleveland (photos) | cleveland.com

Upper state NY-based Southern Tier will open a new downtown brewery and tap room. Who can pass up sampling Crème Brulee Stout or Imperial Cinnamon Roll Ale on Prospect Ave. across from the Winking Lizard?

Wow Southern Tier, nice. Was just at their NY brewery over the summer, out near Lake Chautauqua. A nice drive and good time, but having it right downtown is pretty sweet for Cleveland beer fans.

That's a great endorsement given your love of breweries, but when will downtown/Ohio City reach the saturation point???

I hear a lot about this, perhaps there is a saturation point. I think that now, yeah, another brewery in Ohio City doesn't really add to anything, there's already a ton. Downtown is filling out nicely in this regard, probably soon reaching that point where another one doesn't really do much.

But in my opinion, the beer market is simply switching from bars to breweries, at least to a decent degree. From my experience, that is where a considerable (though still minority) of the population tends towards. Now that doesn't mean just opening a brewery will make you successful, far from it. But I think, and I could be wrong, but more people prefer the brewery experience vs the common bar (tends to be more relaxed, not so loud, friendlier staff/owners on site making sure everything is going well, local pride, not dominated by sports etc). Although, the thing that could really hurt is if we ever go through some economic stagnation, the breweries will close long before the bars. People will have a much harder time justifying a $6.50 lager vs a $3 one.

But we'll see! Regardless I certainly will be checking out Southern Tier's CLE operation!
