Has there ever been this big of a gap in mid April?

Many times, I'm sure.

It would be nice if it was anywhere near 68 here!

Yep. Sometimes it even happens in the same city in a matter of hours. Welcome to April in the midwest. If its any consolation, there will probably be a day or two in May where it's sunny and pleasant up here while they're dodging funnel clouds down there.

It was low 60's last week and tomorrow might hit 90. Beaches still closed unless you are moving (no sitting allowed). I feel for people who are in small apts and have no AC- Not much AC units where I live and Apts will for sure not have any.

There is light rain and 55 degrees here right now. There can often be such differences in weather in the Cincinnati and Cleveland areas and apparently April is one of the months for it. I am supposing any snow there will now be melting if it hasn't already. It is supposed to rain here all day and the temperature is not predicted to rise very much from what it is now.

There is zero snow accumulation here.

Generally though, Cincy is much more temperate (relatively speaking to the region) though isn't it?

Cleveland is more pleasant in the summer than Cincinnati. Check out temperatures and humidity for the respective cities here:

Cleveland also receives lake effect rainfall from the Great Lakes (mostly Erie and Huron) in the summer. Sprinkling rarely is needed.

Cincy vs CLE weather pros/cons

CLE: Greener yards during times of less rain fall in Cincy and less hot and humid in the summer.
Cincy: Shoveled snow in my driveway maybe 5 times total in the last 3 years. Less cloudy rainy days. More sunny days.

What this boils down to is that you have options and can still stay in Ohio depending on what you prefer. I was just not aware that there can be that big of a swing in temps between say two cities in Ohio that are only 3 hours apart. (Lebanon Ohio and Brunswick for example)
