Resurrecting an old thread here...

Lately I keep hearing a song titled "Missing Cleveland". The recording artist is Scott Weiland, formerly of the band Stone Temple Pilots. According to Wikipedia, he was born in California but did live in Chagrin Falls for a time from about age 5 up until his teenage years.

I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned so perhaps I missed it on one of the posts, but don't forget "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot...Great Lakes Brewing named one of their beers after it!

"Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland
And later that night when the ships bell rang
Could it be the North Wind they'd been feeling"

Ooooh... I should've thought of that one... That song came to my mind just a week ago as November 10 was the 33rd anniversary of that great shipwreck disaster.

And several of the 29-member crew (who all perished) were from the Greater Cleveland area:

Crew of the Edmund Fitzgerald

We're talking TRIBE!

BB King mentions Cleveland in one of his songs. I have several hundred songs by him and can never remember the name.
