Compare and contrast. Safe area? Selections of retail and eating options? Prices?

Tower City's retail offerings have dwindled due to the epidemic and the property owner's intent to repurpose the Avenue away from retail.

Tower City still has some formidable restaurants, including Morton's and house restaurants at the Ritz and the Renaissance Cleveland. Jack Casino offers several restaurant options, and the Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse is connected by a tunnel to Tower City and likely will reopen at some point this year. Additionally, Tower City is less than a 10-minute walk to Cleveland's downtown restaurant scene on East 4th St. and in the Warehouse District. The Ohio City Market District restaurants are less than 10 minutes away by the Red Line, and the East Flats restaurants will reconnect to Tower City when the Waterfront Line reopens.

There even is a proposal to reestablish passenger train service at Tower City and otherwise turn it into the region's ground transportation node.

I thought the 90s Federal Courthouse was a serious impediment to bringing back trains there.

That said, it sure would be easier than heading to that godforsaken Amtrak station location. Driving there is a complete nightmare, and the only I way I know how to leave by foot is by walking up to East 9th since West 3rd is/was inaccessible.

Southpark and crocker park get my vote on the westside.

Legacy village on the east side.

If I'm looking at google maps correctly, SouthPark is a traditional enclosed mall while other two are like Easton is in C'bus... all split up all over the place. Does that sound right?

I didn't think Tower City was too bad when I visited Cleveland in 2013 and stopped by there. Locals said that the mall was dingy and unsafe even back then but I felt quite safe there. They had a great gift store called "The Only Cleveland Store" which sadly isn't there anymore. The mall lost Brooks Brothers and Jones of New York as well. Those were the last two fancy holdouts from Tower City's heyday. It's too bad for Tower City but I could understand why it trended the direction it was heading. Indoor urban shopping is no longer popular anymore. They should revamp Euclid Avenue and concentrate on outward facing retail instead.

Correct. Legacy Village is an outdoor center. I think Crocker Park is closer in feel to Easton versus Legacy. Pinecrest, just south of Woodlawn, is a brand new center that is even more like Easton, though I have not been there (yet ).

South park is... South Side, not west side but yeah, better than Tower City but the quality of stores is not so slowly diminishing. That might be true for most of not all indoor mega malls country wide.
