I’m looking at a place off Detroit and W 111. What is the general vibe of the area? The building itself seems pretty secure but I’m just curious as to what others think. Thanks in advance!

It's important to have a very secure building wherever you go nowadays. There seems to be more crime on the west side of Cleveland nowadays so I just steer clear of it. I live in Lakewood not far from there and it seems to be more safe here. The police in my city are much quicker too if you need them.

I lived on the west side of Cleveland 20 years ago and really didn't have any big problems with safety for the most part but feel it has changed and there seems to be more gun violence. You can even google the crime rate of Cleveland now which is horrendous. I am just speaking in generalities, though, and maybe someone who lives in that area can give you a better idea.

Wherever you go it's best to have some sort of protection if you go out walking. I carry pepper spray and don't go out real, real late. Carrying a cell phone is a good idea, too.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I don't think that area is bad at all. It's near the Edgewater neighborhood, and the Lakewood border. There's been a lot of revitalization going on there recently. Like any city neighborhood though you need to use city smarts. Be aware of your surroundings and don't go walking down dark alleys alone at night and you should be fine.
