Ok, I wouldn't even be starting a new thread about this but, I'm PISSED!! I live outside of Akron. Everyday I drive down Manchester Rd. (93) so I get to see 6 gas stations just on this road daily.

Today I started in Canal Fulton - the new Marathon station was something like $3.62 driving North the next GS is the LoBoy and it was $3.72 (10 freaking cents higher in 2 miles) that's not it a couple more miles north another Marathon and a Speedway $3.57 and it stayed that price at the 2 Circle Ks and the BP further North.

How in the heck does this itsy bitsy GS stay in business?? Their products (soda, beer, cigarettes, etc.) Insider are overpriced, too. Not too long ago they went into new ownership and it was all downhill from there?? What's going on here??

Ok, I feel better -- thanks for listening!!

Have a good day =o)

We might look back at quotes like that some day and wonder what we were thinking.

Gasoline prices are cyclical. They are normally the highest in the summer months and lowest in the winter months.

Unfortunately, many of us have become so short-sighted that we are no longer able to comprehend the big picture. Are prices lower now than they were in July? Yes. Will they be lower still in December? Maybe. But what will they look like next summer, or the summer after that, or the summer of 2015 or 2020? It was only 10 years ago that the stuff was essentially free. A lot has and can happen in only a few years time.

In around 2000 I think I remember gas prices being about $1.19 a gallon, fast-forward to 2008 and they got up to over $4.09 a gallon. Thats pretty ridiculous.

And my point is... if it costs $10 per gallon in 2016, are we still going to look back and say that paying $4.09 was "ridiculous"? Or are we going to long for the days when it was such a "steal"?

Also, what doesn't constitute "ridiculous"? Because I'd be willing to place a lot of stock in the fact that we will never pay $1.19 per gallon again, ever.
