We saw this the other day, and noted that Jacksonville is 8th fattest, and Miami is #1. Funny how things change, and FL becomes one of the fattest while Cleve becomes one of the fittest. I'm not surprised. There are lots of resources being built in Cleveland, and the healthcare industry is booming there. That should drive the healthier numbers. All the tubbos are moving to FL b/c they hate Cleveland, and sugarplums of beach life dance in their heads. (I know b/c I live down here, and see the migration). LOL Anyway, yeah Cleve for turning it around. Next thing you know, you'll be on the Forbes List for #1 city to live in.

With the gym I built in my basement, I think I must have single-handedly turned things around for the city!

All joking aside, the fact that the Cleveland Clinic, the largest private employer in the city, offers gym memberships for all of its employees certainly helps.

I would love to see a premier gym facility downtown. Too bad Urban Active chooses to only build out in the 'burbs.

LOL

Ironic. Perhaps someone should send them an email asking them to add an S-u-b to the front of their name.

Still, I would like to actually read these statistics and what they are evaluating it on. Are they basing it simply on the number of parks, recreational facilities, and fitness centers in the area? Or, are they actually basing it on the health of the people living there? If it's more of the former, then that is no way indicative of people actually USING those facilities.
