Surprised I have never heard of Hyperstore. That would be right in the time period I should remember something like that.

Not a department store, but there was a large multi story furniture store on Superior Ave called Levy's.

Oh, and Sears Roebuck when they actually had stores inside the city limits... one at West 110th and Lorain where my grandmother and my parents sometimes shopped, and one on the East Side (on Carnegie near Cleveland Clinic).

I do also remember Kresges,W.T. Grants,and Uncle Bills. My sister used to work at Hill's. I liked the old lunch counter at Woolworth's Southland,and Parmatown.

Me Too! Used to go up to Kresge's and eat at the lunch counter. Was a big treatfor us, too! Always got the tuna salad sandwich and a coke.
