So instead of continuing the hijack of LewLew's house thread, I thought we could have a separate thread about the beaches in the Cleveland area.

What's your favorite beach around here?

What can anyone tell me about Edgewater, I honestly haven't been there before to swim and was thinking about checking it this summer. Is it closer to the Heights area (eastside) than the beaches in Lake County?

Yes, it is about 15 or 20 minutes from the Heights. I like it simply because there are a lot of people around on a nice day and the views are great (how many beaches ahave sunsets and skyline views like Edgewater?) As far as water quality, you'd have to check on a day-by-day basis. It can be fine one day and terrible the next. The beach itself is not huge, but it's nice.

I havent been to all the beaches in the area yet so I couldnt tell you my favorite out of all of them.

I guess I would say Lakeview in Lorain, but thats more of a hometown bias. Same with Edgewater in Cleveland. I do like both of those though. The cleanest one Ive seen was in the suburbs. I cant remember the name but I think it was in Bay Village or around that area. Huntington Park possibly.

Personally I think all of them need to be cleaned up though. Ive been to beaches on the Eastcoast on the ocean and theyre a lot cleaner, maybe thats because these are on a lake though Im not sure.
