You can park on Hampshire overnight (east side of Coventry) if you call the Cleveland Heights Police and tell them where your car is. I have friends do it all the time when they stay over and they haven't had a problem with getting tickets.

I actually got an overnight ticket on Hampshire west of Coventry a few years back. I know that usually in extenuating circumstances most local departments allow for overnight parking if you call them, but I didn't realize that you could do it if you were just hanging out with friends. For instance my neighbor here in UH just had has driveway repaved and of course the city allowed him to park on the street overnight.

Would you like to buy or rent? As a suburb, CH is unusual in extremely large number of walk-up/brownstone apt buildings. I'd look in the Cedar-Fairmount area; it's just up Cedar Hill. In additon to apartments, C-F has a neat, compact old-Tudor style commercial-entertainment district which has everything from coffee houses, jazz clubs, restaurants, drug and Dave's grocery store. You can walk back 'n forth to CWRU (or if you felt lazy and didn't feel like walking uphill home, there are a bunch of bus lines serving Cedar and Euclid Hts. Blvd... And of course, the Red Line Rapid station to dowtown, Ohio City and the Airport is at the bottom of Cedar Hill.

I'm moving to Cleveland in August to attend Case Law and me and my roommate found a place that we really like on Overlook. I don't remember the exact address, but I think it's in the 2400s. Is there anything we should know about this area, other than the obvious lack of parking, before we commit?

Also, does anyone know anything about the wait lists for the city lots? One of us will have to be on a waitlist for the nearby city lot since the apt would only come with one spot.

Thanks

I think the area you are talking about is west of Kenilworth on Overlook, correct? If so, that is a good area.
If you want to get into one of the city lots on the NW and SW corners of the kenilworth/overlook intersection the easiest way to do it may be to contact Montlack Property Management on Mayfield Rd. Montlack manages many of the buildings in that area and they buy up the parking passes for those lots. If they have extra passes, they will sell them. You can contact the city of Cleveland Heights first but if they don't have stickers for the lots you want, try Montlack.

Yeah, it's just west of Kenilworth.

Thanks for the advice, I'll look into that for the parking situation. Would it be best to start trying to get a spot now?

I don't know great the demand is for those two lots. I don't think the parking stickers are expensive (~$30/month) so if it were me I'd probably snag a spot early just to be sure to get into the lot I wanted.

Default Moving to Cleveland Heights

Greetings!
I work at CWRU and am moving to a suite at 1602 Ridgefield off of Superior, which in in Cleveland Heights but borders East Cleveland. Is anyone familiar with this area? I am not from Cleveland, though I found a great suite but the area looks a bit sketchy at times. Any information would be great!

I would recomend something on Hough Ave. It's close, cheap and pretty safe.

While I don't care for Quilliams, there are side streets off of Quilliams that are nice and have a real neighborhood feeling. Specifically some houses from Athersone to Runnymede are nice. This is a pretty stable pocket w/a lot of split levels that include ravines. I have family in the area and there have never been any problems.
