I just did a google search, and I guess it is still open. There was a murder there in August 1994 when 3 or 4 guys robbed the place in the middle of the night. I also ran across another News Herald story where a judge shut down the "preview" booths in 2003 due to sexual activity, but I guess the store itself (Vine Street News) may still be open. I remember driving past there when I was a kid and wondering what kind of place it was!

yes, there was a fiat dealership in mayfield... it was owned by Hal Artz, however they did not sell many cars..(fiats that is)..however they had a fiat x19 in the showroom for the longest time... they had it there for one reason, so they could keep the franchise and the dealership open.

You just jogged loose a memory of my neighborhood as a child. There was a man who came around with a pushcart singing "Paaaaper", "Raaags","Paaaper", "Raaags" and he also sharpened knives. There was
also a man who came around with a Pinto horse and took pictures, for the parents, of children sitting on the horse.
I didn't know DAN DEE came in metal containers. I do know CHARLES CHIPS did. Loved both!

Anyone know what's up with Dan Dee/Troyer Farms? When I drive up, I have a set routine of grabbing three humongous bags of Corn Twistees at a grocery store and a "large" (read: double) Romanburger from Mr. Hero on my way out of town. Last time I stopped at two grocery stores, and NO CORN TWISTEES. what.the.heck????

The best medical care in the world is located in Cleveland.
For kids, either the University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children's, or the Cleveland Clinic. For adults, the Cleveland Clinic is one of the world's best hospitals.

If you think that's a biased statement, you can check out
"Best Hospitals" at the US News and World Report website. It' a magazine that has been doing surveys on the best hospitals and doctors in the USA for many years. That's how we found the best hospital to treat our son who, in 2000-01, was literally wasting away before our eyes due to pancreatitis. The doctors and the hospital saved his life when his doctors weren't doing anything. No, we don't live in Cleveland, not since 1978, but if we were still there I know we wouldn't have had to look far to find the best.
Our son, who was 4 yrs at the time, underwent open heart surgery in 1973 in Cleveland when we lived there. It's one of the best places to live for medical attention. Please do your research for the safest places to live in and around Cleveland. That's a little trickier. That part has changed a lot since we moved, but I still LLLLLOOOOOVE it and wish I still lived there. Maybe someday hmmmm.

Default Happy charlies

Does anyone remember a resturant called Happy Charlie's resturant? I have even done a Google search and beleive it or not, I can't find a single hit. I remember there was a fat guy in front and the high point of the visit was rubbing his belly. I seem to recall that it was either on Vine St, or Euclid Ave.

Also, Little Toms pop which came in small glass bottles in several flavors? Most of which were terrible? You bought them by the wooded case full.

Thanks!
