Hello. I am looking for someone who may have tapes from the Polka Varieties shows that aired back in the 70's on WEWS. I am looking for a specific episode so please let me know if you have a collection of these tapes. I know it's a longshot but perhaps somebody here in Cleveland has these. Thanks in advance fellow Clevelanders.

I've only been recently... and with the separation from my fiance I may have to use this phone number I got while in town ;D I have good memories with friends in Cleveland, and that's enough for me. I've not been there many times, and the few I have been, I got to soak up little of the culture. Hard times have hit and I've got another visit planned... So...

Don't get down, bounce back!

On that note, Cleveland Stadium Mustard is heavenly.

This time of year always makes me remember the local Amish communities. Back in my day, the elementary schools took the kids out to "see the Amish" and do things like attend a horse auction or watch cheese being made. At the time I think the idea was to encourage diversity, but I wonder if those field trips would seem very PC in today's culture.

It was also common for the librarians to read Johnny Wondernose to 1st and 2nd graders. This was a book about the Amish, and I heard it so many times I think I can recite parts of it to this day.

Hello Clevelanders! I moved about 10 years ago and miss it dearly. Anyone out there remember a lively bar called "Silky's"? Back in the late 70's / early 80's a disc jockey named Joe Bohannon used to host Friday or Saturday evenings. Just a great place and I have many incredible memories from that club. Spent many a following morning with a hangover and waking up with a new friend every now and then

I'm so glad to see this thread again! I thought it had finally kicked the bucket. (And that made me a little sad because it had been around for so long--plus it's a fun thread to read.)

Great video! I remember the song/jingle even though I was a little kid when the commercial was out.
