I'm moving from Minneapolis to New York.
I'll be spending first night in Chicago and second night in Cleveland.
I've never been to Cleveland before, so I don't know where to go and what to do.
Is there any area where I can park and walk?
Check out some restaurants, bars, cafes and shops?
Safe alone?
I only have one evening.
So a place to eat, some blocks to walk around would be nice.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks, guys.

Here are some suggestions of areas to check out:

The West Side Market: Cleveland's oldest publicly owned market

Restore Tremont

LITTLE ITALY CLEVELAND - Little Italy an urban neighborhood

http://www.coventryvillage.org/

East Fourth Neighborhood - Cleveland, OH

If I were in Cleveland for a day I would stop on the near west side and check out the West Side Market area and Tremont neighborhood, and then head over to the east side to Little Italy and Coventry. E. 4th Street is also cool, but it's downtown and parking would be more of a hassle.

Eh, you can park at 200 Public Square for $5. E. 4th is right across the street from there. I'd suggest E. 4th at night to eat/drink and, yes, you would be quite safe by yourself. You would also be steps away from "The Q." So, time your travel to catch a Cavs game!

All of 5 Lakes suggestions are good. Though, the WSM is a daytime thing. Market Street (across from the WSM) has one of the best breweries/brew pubs in the Midwest and some fine places to eat.

Also:

Cleveland Cavs game Cavaliers: 2009-10 CAVALIERS SCHEDULE
Rock and Roll HOF Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum
"A Christmas Story" House Home - A Christmas Story House - Ralphie’s House Restored to its A Christmas Story Splendor

If you're just looking for nightlife, I would stick to W. 6th (clubs and bars mostly) or E. 4th (restaurants and bars mostly)

Personally (and I've done this before), I'd stay at a place in or by University circle, go to the museums (if you like museums, these really are stellar), and take the Red Line subway into downtown for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the submarine, the Arcade, and other attractions in the CBD.

Then, you could either hit up the Warehouse District or go back to University Circle and go to Little Italy for night attractions.

I love museums (being a designer, it's kinda my job to keep up with as well).
But I'll be arriving sometime early evening and need to drive the rest way to NY next day.
Unfortunately, I don't have much time in Cleveland.
What I need is somewhere to eat, maybe a drink and walk around a little bit and straight back to hotel.
Maybe next time would be longer stay.

I haven't decide the hotel yet.
Since I have my cat with me, choice will be limited.

Looks like 4th street would be a good place to check out.
What kind of a restaurant is Lola's?
