Most-hated major league baseball team? Not Yankees, report says - ESPN

Thoughts?

Why would the Indians be #1?

From what I've seen it's the Yankees by far. At this point people feel too sorry for the Indians to actually hate them. I even know a lot of out of town people who see them as the underdogs and actually want them to win. Of course that attitude changes when their team is against the Indians (but that's to be expected).

Agree, don't see how this can't be the Yankees. Unless they are talking about ownership, then I am all aboard that the Indians ownership is the most hated in baseball!! The Dolans have single-handedly made both the Knicks & Indians terrible.

Thoughts?

Cleveland is ESPN's most hate city because it has LeBron James and he isn't likely to leave even though most of ESPN's talking heads have indicated that is was a foregone conclusion. Therefore, we'll take it out on the Indians because saying that about the Cavs would undermine our cause.

Most hated in Cleveland, maybe. Have you seen our empty stadium lately?
Dead last in the league for attendance.

MLB Attendance - Major League Baseball Attendance - ESPN
Two reasons, the Cavaliers, and the Indians are awful thanks to the firesale by the ownership the past 2 seasons. If they win 70 games this season it will be amazing.

Maybe they should have said "the most hated ownership." I certainly don't hate the team. However, I find it difficult to pay major league money to go see a bad team.

Disagree with reason #1. This town has proven again and again and again over the years that we are more then capable of filling both stadiums at this time of the year when both teams are playing.

Agree that it's more #2 than #1, but since Lebron became a Cavalier, when was the last time that Regressive Field was filled during April or May?? They filled it during the late 90s thru 2001 when A) they were good & B) the Cavs were at best mediocre and often just bad.

This article is probably from some NYC reporter. LMAO Espn HATES Cleveland and I think it's to persuade LeBron to go to NYC.
