Ok here it is. Well I just moved out of a house here in Jacksonville. Well I cleaned the crap out of it. Then the landlord tells me that all the walls need repainted due to it was a new paint job when I moved in and the carpet needs replaced. Well I payed this months rent of 525 and see is keeping the deposit too of 525. I moved out on the 9th of july which is prior to my lease ending which was August 1st. She had no problem with me moving out at all. Nothing was said about early termination. So now I am kind ticked off that shes taking the money for the rest of the month plus deposit. Ok Ill paint the picture. The carpet which was already stained in the livingroom, was torn up in the two door was into the bed rooms...maybe one to two strands were gone. The walls I took and covered any and all nail holes with joint compound. I just dont see how she can do this at all. I am looking for some advice on what to do on this matter. I deploy the end of the month for 6 months and would like to get something back for it or at least find out where I am wrong or what. Thanks for the help

call her up and confront her about it

complaining about it on the internet will not solve anything

if you left the place torn up then you are going to lose your security deposit

best of luck to you

I would think painting would be normal wear and tear. I would threaten to take her to small claims court. As for moving out early in july and paying the whole months rent, I think that's your loss.
