Any and all info on Swansboro please (Wilmington, Jacksonville: renting, new home)

We will be relocating from NJ within the next 6-8 months. My husband will be working in Jacksonville but we are thinking of living in the Swansboro area. Can anyone share any information with me about the area, housing etc...

What kind of housing? There are new homes and plenty of resales...Alot of local shopping, big box stores in Jville..plenty of medical and dental offices...

We plan on renting a home for the first year until we decide where we will like to buy. We like what we have read/seen about Swansboro but really need to check out the whole area.

Hi just wanted to put my two cents in lol I was born and raised in hubert/swansboro area, I recently relocated and Ill tell you I miss it like CRAZY!! I just cant find that homey feeling like I did in swansboro, there is alot of history in the area. of course with any and every town there will be downers but over all its a wonderful place to live and visit I cant wait til sep. when i get to go home to visit!!

MimmiePMP, Did you move to Swansboro? If you did, I would be interested in how it turned out for you and family. what do you think of Swansboro? My wife and I are considering moving to that area as I have a job offer near Jacksonsville. Over 12 years ago, I lived on Oak Island and really liked that area (Southport, Wilmington), so we would be interested in "similar" towns near Jacksonville. Thanks for any feedback.
