I went to high school in Fayetteville, so I'm slightly familiar with the area. Right now I live in CT and work as a CNC setup/operator for Unison Engine Components, which is a division of GE. I have been told that transfers are possible. My questions are: Does GE there have a 3rd shift (my favorite)?
Does anyone know what the pay scale looks like? I am concerned about schools as I have a 6yo and a 7yo. !st and 2rd grades. Housing looks very reasonable compared to whats here. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

They do have a third shift and GE pay rates are per the union contract even though GE Wilmington is non-union. For your info, GE bought a machining facility in the Asheville area and they need people. I can give the the e-mail address of a GE employee who can give you additional info if interested.

Schools? ..... need to be careful which one your children go to.

I am aware of the plant in Ashville as it was part of the deal with the company I'm with. If you know the best schools, please let me know. I would prefer to be close to the beach but I also want to do right by my family. Having went to school in Fayetteville, I know the importance of the right school district as I was in the worst. I would like any contact info you can get me for Wilmington GE or Ashville. Thanks.
