We'll be visiting friends the first weekend in June in Raleigh. We're considering taking a few extra days and spending them at the beach.

I did find a couple of great deals at resort type hotels for 4 nights in Myrtle Beach (less than $500 b/c of specials)..and I'm wondering if it's worth the couple of hour drive to stay down there or would Wilmington work for us?

Our kids are 5, 2 and 2 and we really just want to be able to very easily hit the beach and maybe use a pool. That's about it!

I've tried doing some internet searches but keep coming up short with hotels. So, I'd love any recommendations for hotels in Wilmington on the beach that might fit the bill for us!

Thanks so much!

I think Wilmington would provide what you want. The beaches are really nice. I'm in Raleigh too, and I sometimes do day trips--go down to the beach, spend a few hours, and come back.

There's also the aquarium, and some type of small zoo. You may also like Airlie Gardens.
