Hello,

I just accepted a job offer in Southport. My wife and I (both in our late 20's and looking to start a family) have been down there for a day looking around and like the area. We are thinking about living in LeLand/Belleville area since it would be close to Southport and still close to Wilmington where I imagine we would be most weekends. Is this a good area to live? We are both from Florida originally so we are used to hot weather and hurricanes, but is there bad flooding in this area?

Anything else we should know before we start looking for a place to live?

One of my co-workers is having a house built in Mallory Creek. It's technically considered in Winnabow, but it's right off of 133 which takes you right into Southport.
