Living in a smaller town we get some really good bands coming thru but it usually is during the week, like when the band is on the hiway and decides to just stop by.
wednesday nite Wilmington is extremely lucky to have
Eilen Jewell and her great band play downtown.
I am in no way affiliated with band or bar where she plays but feel compelled to give a shout out .

I am wondering how many actually bother to go out mid week even
when it is a great band? do you make the effort?

we have gone a few times and crowds have been thin even when
we heard Paul Thorn, accoustic , mid week , that was just one fantastic show. crowds were nowhere what they would have been on a week-end nite and when he came out he admitted he was a little freaked about there being hardly anybody in the place. by the time he started there was a pretty good crowd though.

Default great bands

Hi Moved to the Coast...

I'm relocating to Wilmington and was in town house-hunting when Eilen Jewell came through. I was so excited they were playing at the Soap Box because they are one of my favorite bands from Boston that I used to go see a lot before they began touring all the time (they were very startled to see me in Wilmington!). Yes, I go out mid-week, and I went out even tho I was beat from house-hunting in Southport. The show was great, and it helped me decide to buy in Wilmington proper, since I don't really want to face a long, dark drive home after an evening out.

This is my first post but I read here a lot to try to learn things about my soon-to-be adopted new hometown...
