There are 4168 total including for profits

There are 2169 non profits

ECU ranked at number 504 putting it in the top 25% among non profit schools.

Eh, the methodology Forbes used is shaky, to put it politely.

Rate My Professor ratings and number of alumni listed in those Who's Who scams? Puh-leeze.

That reads like a stupid person's criteria for rating schools. Might as well rank them by which has the coolest looking mascot.

Well, to an extent it is. I'm an alum and don't believe it's that good of a school. It has gotten worse in the past few years.

It's not BAD, but it sure isn't 25% material. May be in the top 25% in size alone but that's about it.

That's great on paper, but it hasn't helped the university's image one bit.

It's no better or worse than the other 2nd tier UNC schools.

That's a function of more people applying, along with rampant grade inflation in high schools juking the stats, not necessarily more qualified people applying. The ratio of college to non-college material hasn't dramatically changed. This is true across the board for every school.
