recently moved to Ohio, and the Outer Banks seems to be a popular vacation spot for Ohioans. I have a few basic questions if anyone could help I'd greatly appreciate it!

1) What is the difference between all the cities on the island, i.e. where is the desirable part?
2) We have a 2 y/o and 4 month-old, so we'll pretty much just hang by the beach, certain places to look?
3) Are 2 bedroom condos hard to find, where should we look?
4) How is the weather/traffic in September?
5) we're hoping to find a place with some walkable areas, shops, etc., certain places to look?

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated!

You are going to drive from Ohio to the Outer Banks, with a four month old? Then try and do activities here, with a four month old? Eeeek

1) What is the difference between all the cities on the island, i.e. where is the desirable part?

Every person that you ask will give you a different answer to that quesion. It all depends on what you like. Okracoke is good if you like out of the way places. Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills(KDH) and Kittyhawk have the most people, and activities.

2) We have a 2 y/o and 4 month-old, so we'll pretty much just hang by the beach, certain places to look?

Not realy.

3) Are 2 bedroom condos hard to find, where should we look?

Can't answer this one, I don't know.

4) How is the weather/traffic in September?

Usualy still nice weather. Traffic should lighten up most people are getting their kids into school by that time.

5) we're hoping to find a place with some walkable areas, shops, etc., certain places to look?Down t

Down town Manteo is a good place to walk around and shop.

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated!

Good places to go are, the NC Aquarium, and Festival Park, and Elizabethen Gargends, all in Manteo. and that's just a start.

How about a small condo in Duck? I used VRBO.com and found a 2BR sound-side condo for $850/per week. The complex has a pool and boat launch. There are others, depending on where you want to go.

If you want to experience the remoteness and tranquility of OBX, find somewhere down near Waves/Salvo/Rodanthe. There's not much for shopping there though, but it's nice. Would be good to find a place with a pool for the little ones.
