The Star News just reported that NC insurance companies are asking the state to allow 30% rate hikes for Property Insurance, even on inland homes in eastern NC counties: this is after several other drastic rate hikes in the past 10 years.
The article states that insurance companies are proposing higher homeowner insurance rates by an average of 30 percent for all properties in New Hanover, Pender and Brunswick counties.
