Where exactly am I looking for a place tagged "non subdivision"?

Sorry. I was just looking through the house rentals on Realtor.com. I saw an older bungalow on Sumter Ave, Carolina Beach, where the Neighborhood was labelled "Not in a Subdivision". However, I don't think you can search on the term.

The rent was $1175/month, with pet restrictions. It did not have a garage, but if you are interested, I can send you a DM. I am not a realtor.

There is also a nicer house in Kure Beach at $1600/month. It has a 2 car garage, 3 BR and 2 BA, and it's on South 4th Street.

I am just offering these as example, since you had not mentioned what your budget would be. Good luck!

Chiming in to say that you can find less expensive long-term rentals if you don't try to be within walking distance of the beach.

Just a little way up the road from Carolina/Kure is Masonboro and Monkey Junction (aka Myrtle Grove). If you don't want to rent right at the beach, but still be within 15 minutes drive, these might be good places to look into. Some are and some are not HOA.
