Anyone know a good source or location to find a reasonably priced 1/2 bedroom oceanfront rental? Anywhere on the nc/sc/va coast would do!
Thanks in advance for any leads!

Normally I recommend the rent by owner sites, but it can be hard to find last minute rentals there. I would check with the major rental agencies for the areas you're interested in. I don't get the impression that things are fully rented this year, so they should have some last minute vacancies, maybe not oceanfront, though. Here on Topsail Island those would be Ward Realty, Century 21 Action, and Topsail Realty; I don't know the big players in other areas.

Call the Vacation Rental companies. Usually they will put some of the properties on special. It is better for them to rent it for 1/2 price, than it is to let it sit unoccupied.

Last week I found a sweet deal for a rental (1 block from the ocean) advertised on Craigslist for my vacation, which starts next weekend. Have you considered a hotel? No matter which way you find a place, you probably are looking to luck-out with someone else's cancellation, which are not too uncommon. You just have to keep researching and calling until you land a place.

I called around some to some rental agencies and left my info with them. I ended up getting a 4 bedroom home in Corolla for 900 two weeks ago. I have summers off so I can drop things at a moments notice and go vacation somewhere.
