I used to live in Grandy for about a year. I lived in the "Walnut Island" section of town and worked along obx as a vendor at grocery stores. Grandy was kind of a disappointment to me since I was 18 when I moved there and out of school. couldn't really make many friends but most people there seemed pretty friendly. might be moving back soon then relocated to another town to go to college since there isn't one nearby other than ecsu and manteo.

I say this tongue in cheek .. please do not take offense:

The Good
North Carolina is beautiful, mountains and ocean accessible in about 3 hours from the Piedmont. Mild climate, a unique coast of sounds and barrier islands, the Great Smokey mountains, good food, friendly people.

The Bad
Everyone seems to like the good, moves to NC, resulting in more development, increased pollution, more traffic, higher prices on everything including land and housing.

The Ugly
There is a running joke ... Yankees come to NC to visit. Damn Yankees come to NC to stay.
