Both the Hoffman forest which is 79,000 acres and 4,500 acres in Merritt, Pamlico County could possibly be turned into farmland or development. Please contact the decision makers if you wish to help keep NC beautiful. North Carolina Coastal Federation: Pamlico Land Clearing Raises Concerns

I tried and for some reason it was not submitted and they wanted me to be a coach due to all the causes I have supported in the past. I think the best thing that local, state and feds can do to stem the loss of natural lands is to give tax breaks to property owners that decide to leave their property in a pristine state. Why do they give tax breaks to farmers and timber people but nothing in the form of incentives to people that want to leave their property natural. Loss of habitat is destroying countless species of fauna and flora. The insect populations have been especially hit hard in the past few years. Insects are what plankton is to the sea, essentially the beginning of the food chain if you exclude vegetation. Tax breaks equivalent to what farmers and silviculturalists get is what I am currently striving to enlighten the establishment and general population with.
