None of these choices were great (sounds like our current election!), but Kinston Wood Ducks would have sounded much better, IMO. If they make the team colors similar to hunting camouflage (brown, green, orange), they probably would make a lot of merchandise sales. If they are smart, they would have a special "safety orange" night and do orange jerseys and a hat giveaway before the start of hunting season. They could have plenty of "camo jersey" nights. Duck call night. A cool kid friendly duck mascot. Doesn't sound so bad marketing wise.

Guess I've talked myself into it! I'm still gonna call them the Kinston Wood Ducks, though.

Wow. That is a bit surprising. I guess they couldn't get anything worked out with JP Riddle Stadium in Fayetteville. Campbell's baseball stadium is pretty nice, but wayyyyyyyy too small for anything long term. They'll probably be missing out on a lot of potential revenue with the lack of beer sales on Campbell's campus as well. Campbell's stadium only holds about 1,000 people. Not a great way to start out, IMO.

The Astros made it clear they were looking for a temporary home in the Carolinas. I assume settling on Campbell is an attempt to stay connected with the fanbase in Fayetteville, where they intend to be long-term (though still no guarantee for a new stadium as of yet).

Astros feeling right at home in Buies Creek/Uniforms Unveiled | MiLB

I'm much more inclined to buy merch from the BC Astros than the D.E.W.D.'s.

Renovations at Campbell this offseason will double their seating capacity.

The Wood Ducks could have a cool logo, and your Buies Creek Astros merch could be a collectors item, since I assume when they move to Fayetteville in 2019, they will probably be having a "Name that Team" contest and be called the Fayetteville ____________.

I don't know I've played in the Kinston field before where the Kinston Indians used to play and driving through Kinston looks like a ghost town. Their biggest building in downtown is a jail!
