True enough...but it can take 30 minutes to get to UNCW from Carolina Beach. And 30 plus minutes to get to Hampstead from downtown.

The OP asked for small towns within commuting distance. If Hampstead or Carolina Beach are within commuting distance than so is Currie or even Atkinson, which more fit the bill of what the OP was requesting in a more "woodsy" area.

You are equating time with distance. They are 2 different concepts. I was simply making sure the OP understood what was being recommended. No need to take it so personally.

And I never suggested Carolina Beach or Hampstead.
