If you are looking for furniture consignment stores, there have been many past suggestions, including Cape Fear Consignments in Leland. Otherwise Craiglist is a good place to start.

Ivy Cottage in Wilmington is the best.

I'd love to open a high end consignment store in the wilmington area. I'd prefer not the sell furniture. Are there really too many already? Do they NOT make money?

That's a nice idea. However, I suspect there is much more demand than good supply. So many retirees are moving into the area, and they leave their old furniture behind in the north.

Perhaps you could find an inside with older families already in the area who want to downsize.
