We're leaving our 16 year old mattress and boxspring set behind when we move to New Bern this year. Any recommendations for the best furniture stores in or reasonably near to New Bern for mattresses?

Since I am a fan of memory foam mattresses, I suggest checking the Mattress Firm store in New Bern. Or, just order a Tempurpedic over the Internet.

If you need to go to a physical store, it would be helpful to know your budget and taste preferrences. For example, the Ashley Home Store seems to be a mid-budget choice, and there are others which are probably more upscale.

We we very happy to use an Internet firm, and had the bedroom set and mattress delivered at our closing time. It was nice to have a bed when the rest of the furniture was delivered 3 weeks later.

BTW, if your try a Tempurpedic, you won't want a conventional mattress every again. But I don't know if that is in your budget.

After buying two mattresses in a row from an Internet vendor, we recently replaced a king sized mattress from Mattress Firm. We went to the one at the New Bern mall. I figured it would be a painful "used car" kind of experience, and was pleasantly surprised. Professional, accommodating, informative, in sum, a very good transaction. If we buy another mattress I am sure we will go back.
