I have never been there, plan on visiting soon. Is there much difference between SC(Myrtle Beach area) and NC(southern coast area)? Curious why people make the decision on one or the other. Are the taxes, etc. about the same? Thanks☺

Myrtle Beach is basically Beach-Vegas without the casinos. Though, just north and south of Myrtle are more quaint SC beach areas. NC beaches are in general much more laid back although Wrightsville Beach can get quite crowded. Not sure about taxes differences.

The property taxes in SC are much lower for resident owners, but there are also other taxes to consider. You should consult a cost of living site for details on your situation.

Much of Myrtle Beach is very developed with high-rises, amusement parks, etc. It is not to my taste at all. Brunswick County NC has many golf courses and residential developments which I think are very pleasant.

The tax difference between Raleigh and Brunswick Co. is a world of difference too.
