I had scheduled my first beach vacation in 15 years in FL and now I'm having to scramble and do something else due to Hurricane Dorian.

I'm hoping there's enough time to get in a trip to a NC beach vacation instead. Where should I go? It will be me, my hubby and two kids 8 and 5. I was hoping for a more family-oriented place that is not too crowded.

All the beaches in NC are family oriented. Can't guarantee not crowded on Labor Day weekend, though. That seems unrealistic.

I'd look at maybe Ocean Isle, Holden Beach, maybe Topsail or Surf City, but that's me. Check out www.visitnc.com/coast for a nice overview.

Thanks so much everyone! We've decided to go in early October so we will have a bit more time to check this all out.
